5/31/2016 0 Comments What are your thoughts?What are you spending your time thinking about? Be careful or those thoughts will soon consume your mind and then you will do your best to make them a reality. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. This was a eye opener for me tonight! Check out what the bible says to think on..."Phil. 4:8, " Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

My name is Wanda Sears. I grew up in a very small Presbyterian church in Eagleville Tennessee. I knew the Lord at a young age. As I grew up I fell away and didn't attend much. I didn't turn away but I wasn't living for the Lord either.
At the age of 30 I realized that it was time to make a change in life for my daughter and I. I was facing another failed marriage but realized that I couldn't help anyone until I got my life together. My daughter and I tried a church that my sister was attending and I loved it. Things started to turn around but I still had a husband that wanted no part of it. I started to pray and ask a lot of other people to pray for my husband. You see, he had never been to church and the Sunday that I was baptized he came out of respect. Little did I know, the Lord was working. He gave his life to the Lord and from that point on we have been on roller coaster ride that never stops and I love it. Romans 4:17b God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Maybe this is how we live an unoffendable life. We choose to see people in the way they are created rather than how they really are, in hopes that they will see the love of God in us. We can't be surprised or in a state of disbelief anymore when someone does something that is crazy. The human heart is capable of horrific things. The bible is so clear what can come out of our heart. We recognize the brokenness, but don't allow ourselves to be offended by it. Instead we search for the created value of the person. We won't see that value come out, until a person is born again, but we will see glimpses of it, because God has set eternity in the hearts of people. Ecclesiastes 3:11. In essence we do the same thing that God did for us. He didn't start loving us after we started a relationship with Him. John 3:16 Romans 3:23 As Christians we have a great responsibility to show the face of Jesus. This goes hand in hand with a Christian not being offended. I know this is hard, but it is possible. If it weren't possible, then what Jesus did on the cross wasn't good enough. This is tough stuff to take in, but if we want to be a people of reconciliation. 2 Cor 5:11-18 This will cause us to take an honest look at our own brokenness. Not just look at it, but do something about it. That doesn't mean we have to wait for our own brokenness to be mended. In fact it's quite possible that as we minister reconciliation to others we will experience it in own own lives. Jesus says, know the truth and the truth will set you free... No one will ever know the truth if isn't shared with them. No one will ever experience true freedom if the truth isn't shared with them! Jesus was never apologetic about the words He said. he was simply speaking what His Father to Him too. We can speak truth, but don't have love, then we are just making noise. He also says, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life... Chip Ingram said, that Christians have a tendency of sharing truth without love, and sharing love without truth. Let that sink in... The Gospel is offensive to the sinner! But God has given the sinner free will. We can choose to be or not to be offended! He didn't stop with free will, He gave us the power of the Holy Spirit! Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. A good friend once said when asked how we can share Christ with others, " you can argue the scriptures all day with an unbeliever, but no one can discredit your story and how you have experienced Christ in your own life".
Mark 16:15 -"And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone." The gospel is a timeless story of Jesus that is the foundation of our faith. However, Jesus didn't stop working there. He works in all of our lives every second of the day. So, next time you don't feel equipped or knowledgeable enough of the bible, lean on what He has done in your own life and share that good news with everyone! He is alive and mighty today!
